How-To Diable Windows Automatic Updates

 

 

Please select which version of Windows you are using:

 

I use Microsoft Windows XP

I use Microsoft Windows Vista

 

 

 

 

 

Disabling Automatic Updates in Windows XP

1) Click Start >> Settings >> Control Panel (if you do not have Settings, then you would click Start >> Control Panel)

2) Double Click on 'System'

3) Click on the 'Automatic Updates' tab

4) Select 'Turn off Automatic Updates'.

5) Click 'OK' (see screenshot below)

You are finished disabling Automatic Updates for Windows XP.

 

 

 

Disabling Automatic Updates in Windows Vista

1) Click Start >> Settings >> Control Panel (if you do not have Settings, then you would click Start >> Control Panel)

2) Click 'Security'

3) Click 'Turn automatic updating on or off'. (This is located under the Windows Update section)

4) Select 'Never check for updates'

5) Click 'OK' (see screenshot below)

You are finished disabling Automatic Updates for Windows Vista.
