Windent is an independently owned, privately held dental practice management software company. We are the perfect size to service our users with a personal touch. We will get to know each of you individually.

3. What products does Windent offer?

Windent OMS: Practice management software specifically designed for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Practices.

Windent SQL: Complete dental practice management.

Windent EE: is designed for large practices, such as Universities. Our three proprietary users are The University of Iowa, Ohio State University, and Virginia Commonwealth University, Colleges of Dentistry.

5. What are customizations and why would I need them?

If there is any part of the Windent software you would like altered to better meet your needs, we offer customization services. For example, if you would like to change the format of a report in Windent, we can easily modify it.

6. How do I get my patient names and addresses into Windent?

We offer the most comprehensive data conversions in the industry to transfer your patient information into Windent automatically.

We have a proven two-step process for successfully transferring your data.

Test Conversion (trial run)
First, you provide us with a digital copy of all of your patient information, records, and files. This can be done without shutting down your office. While we make our first conversion of your data, you are still in business. We will then transfer the data to a format appropriate for the Windent system and send it back to you. Upon completion, we will call you and allow you to view your data, to ensure that it has correctly been moved.

Final Conversion (live conversion)
Once you are happy with the way your data has been converted, schedule and complete the final conversion, carefully noting any comments you gave during your approval period.

All of this takes twenty-four to forty-eight hours in completion, so your office will not be down for a week, just a matter of days. Most data conversions can be delivered to coincide with your onsite training.

7. Can Windent provide hardware too?

For an easy one-stop solution, Windent can supply all of your hardware and installation services. This provides you with a smoother transition. We typically install Dell Computers with a Three-Year Warranty.

If you have a local hardware vendor, Windent will be more than happy to assist and consult as needed.

8. What financing options does Windent offer?

9. Does Windent offer a subscription option? What is the difference between a subscription and purchase of the software?

Purchasing
When purchasing products from Windent, you pay a one-time licensing fee for your software. Service and support are additional.

Subscribing
When subscribing to Windent’s products, you pay an ongoing monthly fee for the use of the software. You also receive support and software updates at no additional cost.

We will be glad to propose both options so you can decide which is best for your practice.

10. Is ongoing monthly support required?

Our software support services are optional; however, you must have a policy to access our customer care services. Please note that our service fee includes software updates at no additional charge.

11. Do I need training to run the Windent software? What does Windent recommend?

The Windent software is very logical and easy to learn. If you have used Windows before, you can easily pick up the basics of our system. However, to get the most benefit from your investment in the system, we recommend training.

We offer onsite services where we come out to your office with an individualized training plan we will develop just for your office. Usually, two to three days will more than get you off to a flying start! In addition, you always have the option to purchase additional training, as you think would be helpful.

For follow-up training, we also offer telephone and Internet training options, or you can come into our office for training at a reduced rate. Contact us for more details.

12. Does Windent offer an Internet based subscription option?

Yes. We can host your data on our Internet server reducing your initial investment. With this option, you pay an ongoing monthly subscription fee that will include software support and updates. In addition, with this option Windent will be responsible for backing up your data.

There are multiple ways to connect your offices

-Frame-Relay
-T1/Leased Line

We will be glad to find out what service is available in your area and to provide a recommendation. All of the above will work fine with Windent. It depends on the services are available in your area.

15. Can I send electronic insurance claims with Windent?

Yes. As a matter of fact, you can send dental, medical, and government claims electronically with the Windent software. Best of all, you can send pre-authorizations and get a response back within 48 hours typically!

16. Can I send my patient statements electronically to be printed by someone else?

Yes. In addition to the ability to print statements in your office, Windent also allows you to electronically send your patient statement file to a third party to be printed, folded, stuffed, stamped, and mailed on time every time! Electronic statements will also typically cost significantly less than processing them yourself.
